Alvenn Soroko (they/them) is a sound artist, ritualist and (song)writer based in London. Their practice explores the origins of art in ritual, understanding it as a means of cultural reflexivity and emotional regulation, where collective listening and sound-making play a crucial role. From sound walks to sound installations to participatory ritual performances, Alvenn’s work takes many forms, addressing the need for diverse approaches to collective meaning-making, or what they call ‘meaning movement’. Sound Bonding is an example of such work, facilitating ritualised encounters with queerness both through the act of coming together in workshops and community projects and as confrontation through gallery installations and performances. Sound Bonding is an ongoing practice that originated from a year-long research process and was originally presented at Dilston Grove Gallery in London (2025) as part of the final MA Sound Arts exhibition Whose Voices Will Announce It?.

In July 2025, Alvenn presented their work at the History Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina during Why Remember? Testimonies of Light (2025), an international conference in Sarajevo, supporting a workshop led by Alma Zero and Thomas Gardner that explored collective trauma, memory and reconciliation through a multi-sensory approach to survivor testimony. Other works by Alvenn include a collaborative piece titled Past(Tense) (2025), exhibited at Copeland Gallery in London as part of the AGORA exhibition; They/Us: Ritual of Resonance, an installation and interactive ritual performance exploring exclusion within feminist practice; and more.

Alvenn’s early interest in programming, and their background in music performance and composition, make them a versatile practitioner whose experimental methodology often leads to multidisciplinary solutions, implementing tools such as Pure Data and TouchDesigner to create intricate interactive systems. Their knowledge and methods extend to, but are not limited to, sound design, field recording, studio engineering and multichannel audio.
